Archbishop Cordileone has written a new letter to the faithful of the Archdiocese. The letter contains the Archbishop’s reflections on the listening sessions here and on his conversations with his fellow bishops, who yesterday finished up their meeting in Baltimore. The letter, dated November 15, is posted (in English and in Spanish) on the Archdiocesan website, on the webpage “Protecting Children,” along with the Archbishop’s prior letters on the current crisis, and many other resources.

The U.S. bishops are joining together in a commitment of prayer and reparation leading up to the bishops’ general assembly, where we will be making critical decisions in response to new revelations of abuse, especially sexual abuse and abuse of power, and its cover up. With my brother bishops across the nation, I will be dedicating myself to seven days of intensified prayer and fasting, from Monday, November 5, through Sunday, November 11.
